Ming Li

Ming Li is currently an Associate Professor and NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW Sydney. She received her PhD from the University of Wollongong in 2013. After completing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Houston (2013–2014) and the University of California, Los Angeles, USA (2014–2017). From 2018 to 2023, she was a Lecturer and then a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University.

Ming Li’s research focuses on engineering the next generation of micro- and nano-technologies at the interface of engineering, biology, and medicine. Her work spans droplet microfluidics, biosensors, and lab-on-chip technologies, translating fundamental principles into innovative biomedical devices and systems. These platforms enable precise manipulation and interrogation of cells, molecules, and their microenvironments, creating new opportunities for advanced diagnostics, precision medicine, and sustainability.

Pengran Wang

Research focus

My proposed research project focuses on droplet-microfluidically fabricated magnetic microrobots for controlled cargo transport, magnetic targeting, and localized release. The project investigates how microrobot structure and magnetic configuration influence transport and delivery in confined, branched, and flowing biomimetic microenvironments.
